No answer to this one yet?

This *should* be easy for Hangar to answer.

I would like to find out the answer myself!

    Hi

sorry to jump in but im trying to get an answer on autopilot and spark compatibility, Is the spark fully supported ??

    thanks guys

No answer yet on my question - but I think the hardware just does it automatically at startup when GPS aquired (enough sats)

It seems a bit tough to get any informatoin or help from Hangar - but from what I have seen yes it seems to be. - you need to check the changelog / release notes tho or actually email / contact Hangar to know for sure - please report back anything you find too.

    thanks

just as a matter of interest when using the free Hangar 360 app the home point is set when GPS lock is acquired so should be for the main app also I would guess.

Yes, your Home Point is set at your aircraft when your aircraft is turned on and has a GPS position.

The Spark works in Autopilot and Hangar 360 2.0.

Keep in mind these are community forums, if you want to get an answer from someone at Hangar use support@hangar.com

I flew an Autopilot mission yesterday with a Spark.

I set it to RTH at end of mission.

The place it landed was not where it first got GPS—about 10-15 meters away.

The home position is NOT shown on the map, so you don’t know until it starts landing where it is!

so even though its the DJI flight controller its not using precision landing as it does when using Go4, maybe it would be more accurate to take off using go 4 and raise to 20 feet for 10 seconds and then exit go4 and start autopilot with aircraft location as the start, just a thought

It would still be better if Autopilot showed the stored home waypoint...

  • Dave Woods

if its not that accurate it would be of little help really, but autopilot should enable precision landing if they can

apart from the RTH issue H45R19 how do you find autopilot in general, and are you using an iPhone or an Ipad ??

  • H45R19

    Using iPad Pro (big one).

my comparison is to Tower with Ardupilot—quirky but the best I’ve found, and to me Mission Planner (PC) is just way too crappy to use.

I like the Autopilot concept behind triggers and how you manage creating the mission.

they could really use some work on touch interface to quickly and more intuitively add waypoints/triggers/etc.

I am using it with a Spark, so not the highest end choice.  I find the camera movements and waypoint transitions too jerky and non-cinematic for anything real.

Autopilot does show the Home Point, and it can be changed if Dynamic Home Point is turned on.
