i am flying an DJI Inspire 1 raw (X5R) with a 128 gig, wifi + cellular 9.7 inch iPad + autopilot. This is what I would Ike to do.
In the comfort of my home, I would like to use my iPad that is connected to my home wifi, using autopilot, I would choose an area on a map (most often remote) and plan waypoint flights of say a sea shore or close island. Once done, I would save my flight plan in autopilot and wait for favourable weather day. On a good weather day, I would proceed to the area where I planned the autopilot flight and prepare for my autopilot flight.
Here is my question:
Since I used my IPad connected to my home wifi, planned my flight with autopilot, saved my flight plan to autopilot, once on location where there is no wifi but there is cellular service, does my iPad have to be connected to the internet (via my iPhone’s personal hotspot or iPad SIM card) to accurately complete my planned autopilot flight?
Any info on this topic would be greatly appreciated!
